Explore work by occupation

Compare the kinds of work deaf and hearing people do, their educational attainment, and their earnings across 24 broad occupation groups, including Military.

NDC broad groups

Choose a broad group from 2024 scientific candidate

Each group includes a range of Census occupation codes (OCCP). Construction and Extraction combines two ranges. These estimates cover employed people ages 16–64 whose occupation falls within a listed group. Employment includes civilians and Armed Forces (ACS ESR 1, 2, 4, or 5). Military includes all four valid codes: 9800, 9810, 9825, and 9830. Code 9920 is not Military.
